As you read in Step 5, you should upgrade your cables. What exactly does that mean? You will need to purchase better cables. The cables included with the player are fine, but better cables means better sound and video. When it comes to video, if you can afford it, the recommended cable is S-Video. However, if you have a composite TV and have purchased a player with composite video, you should buy a composite video cable.
S-Video makes improvements on the picture quality in comparison to a standard video cable. The best cables on the market are Monster Cable and Straightwire. The S-Video cable will cost you a small amount of money (about $30), but it really is worth it. The improvements come from the type of metal used to make the cables. Gold and silver are used as conductors, therefore, the higher the cost of the cable, the better quality of metal.
